Third Times a Charm at Sonner Nationals

The third time truly proved the charm for Pro Modified ace Kenny Lang Sunday evening as Lang drove to his third straight final round, finally making it pay off with a win over Ed Hoover during final eliminations at the Sooner Nationals at Tulsa Raceway Park.

Defending champ Lang ready to tackle new track

While much of the focus surrounding the upcoming Nitro Jam race at Dallas Raceway has been about the track itself, it is the drivers that will walk away from this weekend’s event with the fame and glory that comes with winning a first-time event.

And defending IHRA Pro Modified champion Kenny Lang hopes he is the one hoisting the inaugural Amalie Oil Texas Nationals trophy Sunday night.

Lang tops Rockingham IHRA Pro Mod

Defending Pro Modified World Champion Kenny Lang (Grande Pointe, Manitoba) showed why he is the world champion by knocking North Carolina’s own Smith (King, N.C.) from the top of the charts with a blazing 5.960 elapsed time at 239.48 miles per hour to take the No. 1 qualifying spot in Pro Mod during Saturday’s Castrol "Night of Fire" qualifying at Rockingham Dragway's IHRA Spring Nationals.
